Paleontologists found a small theropod dinosaur skull right on top of a nest of eggs that were believed to belong to a plant-eating dinosaur. Instead of being the nest robbers that they were originally thought to be, raptors like this one would reveal themselves to actually be caring parents.

Egg protector. But changing the name would mean you would have to change the name dinosaur aswell. Keep them as they are the naming of these creatures is history no need to change history.

Ova Pater instead of Ova Raptor. (Pater is latin for Father. So if the father took care of the eggs this name would make more sense as egg father, rather than egg thief.)

Many modern birds such as crows, ravens, and magpies will eat the eggs and babies of other birds if they want to.

They were simply what was alive at the time. They weren't strange or bizarre to themselves; they simply were. - And all you have to do is watch a few programs by David Attenborough or of PBS's Nature to realize that right now, in our own time, there are millions of species that qualify as "weird," "strange" and "bizarre." They're not weird, strange or bizarre to themselves; they're just unfamiliar to us sheltered city slickers. Fifty million years from now, if an intelligent species exists on Earth, they will presumably discover fossils of such "weird," "strange" and "bizarre" creatures as dogs, cats, elephants, bears, canaries, some of the 350,000 currently extant species of beetles, and Homo sapiens. - And furthermore, only in retrospect can some fossils, such as Archaeopteryx, be seen as "transitional." Archaeopteryx was perfectly adapted to its own era; if it had been intelligent, it would never have guessed that after more millions of years, its descendants would evolve into birds. What happens is that any species that adapts to fill an ecological niche, thus alters the ecosystem to which it is adapting, which increases the evolutionary pressure on the species in that ecosystem.

Completely remove it from its false past of egg stealing, while also inspiring people to learn why it would have such a wacky name. I chose the name because it's colors were probably spicy and vibrant, while still being classy. French Toast Face because of that horn looking thing being somewhat flat like French toast.
