No I never saved the umbilical cord. I had a c section just let Tim lift the baby car seat when you go outside. You will be tender for at least 6 weeks.

I took my family on the Skyliner a week after the issue. 0 doubts or concerns. Will do it again every trip. I've ridden the same system and many other aerial transport systems all over the world. 100% there's a side of the story Disney will never share but the delay should never have been 3 hours.

Kangaroo and Emu - the animals on our national Coat of Arms! Why? Because neither animal can walk backwards to show that Australia is a progressive country, always going forward!

So horse flies are here in South Carolina too. Their bites HURT. Also, I knew those oranges aren’t as orange as you find them in the store! My grandpa used to have a vacation home in Florida and he had Orange trees on the property and he would bring a lot home to everyone. They were always a very light orange with green on them, but they tasted fine. He later told me that producers inject them with a more orange color because people expect Oranges to be very orange. He said you’re also normally taught that green equates to it not being ripe so people most likely wouldn’t think they’re ready. It made a lot of sense.

Regarding baby's name. My daughter was going to be Isabelle until I was 6wks pregnant and had a dream that she was called Lily and she's been Lily ever since. She's now 8! X

About the cord blood. We did delayed cord clamping, which meant that most of the blood from the cord was pumped into our baby. There was no facility to store or donate cord blood near us, and we did look into donating her cord blood, but our doctor knew we wanted to do delayed cord clamping and told us there would be nothing or not enough left to donate. I don't know if you have looked into the benifits of delayed cord clamping, but it's worth reading about it. See if it's what you want and if it's even possible with a window birth.

I left the morning after the skyliner incident. I wasn't a part of that whole thing but I did watch the report on the Orlando news. I was afraid before and more so now. Buses and boats for me.

I don't know when this whole cord blood thing got started but I don't think it was prevalent in 1992. If it was a thing considering my mother didn't breast feed I don't think freezing cord blood was something she would have considered.

I had a c section last year. My advice is buy high waisted underwear that’s nice a soft! Also pack high waisted pants/skirts. You don’t want anything sitting on a c section scar. Definitely pack slip on slippers/shoes. You don’t want to bend over after a c section!! Get up and moving as soon as you can. Gentle walking is important. I’m now 15 months postpartum and my scar has healed well but still gives me twinges every now and then. I had my daughter at 37 weeks via emergency c section even though I had the surgery booked for 38 weeks. It was scary but definitely worth it as it saved mine and my daughters life as I had severe pre eclampsia. I have no doubt you can do it with Tim by your side.

I am more afraid of the many people driving on the road around my car. Would rather use Disney transportation. I will be riding the gondolas on my next trip!

We saved our sons cord blood. My daughter has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 9 yrs old and there are studies using stem cells. The studies are even showing sibling cord blood is even better ;)

No to cord blood banking, because if you do it you cannot have delayed cord clamping which is far more valuable in the immediate. Also, it’s expensive.

LOL We also called my daughter Jayden during pregnancy, and had things made with that name on it, then ended up naming her Emily.

Honestly, I get Jenn's fears of the Skyliner and all of the Disney transportation, but most modes of transportation are dangerous. I recently had a loved one die in a car accident and many people around me are now scared to drive their vehicles(I'm a teenager to put it in perspective) but I don't get it. Almost anything you do in life can put you in harms way. Accidents do happen, but I don't want that to stop me from enjoying something. I don't want to sound like I'm belittling Jenns point-of-view, but it always confuses me when I hear people express fear for forms of transportation.

Sounds like you have a placenta previa. That’s what I had too. Scheduled for a c section but ended up getting an emergency one at 34w5d due to pre-eclampsia. Best c section tip someone gave me is your body may start to tremble, like uncontrolled shaking right before and or during the spinal block. This is normal but weird because you can’t control it, so just be prepared so you don’t freak out if it happens to you. Post c section advise. Get up and move as soon as you can it helps with healing. Ask for and use an abdominal binder stat. It will be your best friend. We had a very tall bed so it helped to have my binder in to be able to climb in and out of bed. Stool softeners. Get granny panties one size bigger, you don’t want anything rubbing your incision. Many ladies use the mesh undies and pads provided by the hospital but I preferred real undies and just got big pads. The bleeding post c section for me wasn’t too bad . I also got some pajamas the kind with button up shirts and pants in one size bigger and wore those in the hospital instead of gowns that way it could open easily or be pulled up for doctors checks. I also fuzzy socks with grips on the bottom. I was in for 5 days because of the pre e so I had my own pillows and cozy blankets from home too. Once you get cleared post op look up c section massage and do self massage on your incision and abdominal area to prevent any adhesions from forming which could cause vowel issues or obstruction. In or after a hot bath is a good time. Congrats the time will fly by and you’ll be meeting your baby soon 👶🏼💙

It was a similar scenario where it was what was safest for my sister-in-law and for the baby. They found out for sure about a week before he was born that it would need to be a c-section, and it turned out fine. As long as baby arrives and everyone is healthy and safe, there is no "right" or "regular" way to deliver a baby. We didn't get to know his name until he was born, but I think his parents had the name picked out beforehand. Good luck, I know you'll be great <3

They sent the kit and it traveled from Texas to Florida. Our son was born 21 years ago and it was a fairly new idea, but I knew I wanted to do this. We have paid the fee ever since and currently still do, it just gave us some mental relief knowing it was saved and it was there and could possibly help if the need ever happened. If he had needed stem cells, they would have harvested them from his bone marrow. I suspect it would only be used in blood cancers such as leukemia, which is the most common childhood cancer. It may be helpful for any sibling with an illness as well. We did not store the cord blood, because of the few instances it could actually be used.

I don't know about the need of saving your own though for later use since it's likely very rare to need it. My brother didn't have that saved and was still able to get the stem cells from donations. So I would recommend looking into the possibility of donating it.
