When you say the words "money pit", I sure would like to see the photo pop up behind you illustrating just what a money pit actually looks like. I am glad you show "bite you in the rear end" photos when those words crop up. Those photos make me laugh & ;^()+-| ha-ha.

How does Scotty propose himself to know how each of us will drive any or use any motor vehicle let alone a pickup, which gets used as many ways as there are buyers. I have a standard cab, standard bed, 2WD F150 with the 2.7L. It weighs a mere 4190 pounds of curb weight wet. I bought the turbo version not for it's speed but for the added refinement, aka 90% of it's peak torque at only 1900 RPM. It weighs 97 more pounds than the base V6 that is so peaky that it needs 6500 RPM to make full power and 4000 RPM to get full twisting force. Mine gets 325 at 5000 and 400 at 2750. Now any engine that can move a light truck like mine with just a hint of turbo spool and not turning lots of RPM like an NA V6 can last if it is well designed and driven responsibly well under its limits. All indications since 2015 points that the 2.7L twin turbo is very durable.

Likewise Ranger's 2.3 has not only been around a while with a durable track record, but it should also be noted that this truck version is derated versus Mustang or Focus down to 270 horsepower. Moreover, if you choose the XL trim in 2WD and Super Cab, you'll not only get a more usable work truck with better payload, but you'll have 310 ft-lb peak torque turning 16" rims and about 4144 curb weight. It gets all it's power at 5500 RPM and peak torque at 3000. Now Scotty's beloved NA engines in this segment are even more peaky and wimpy than the NA V6s in the full size segment. GM's 3.6, for instance, needs 6800 RPM to make full power and over 4000 tp get peak torque. So how is it that a high revving, hard working NA V6 that needs more revs to operate and work is inherently more durable than a GTDI engine driven like an adult?

I mean if we want to get through to people with important helpful info, isn't the word stupid going to turn people off, make them feel like they are being attacked or even create low self esteem...I mean don't too many of us struggling and trying to survive in our world have our mind machine telling us we can't do anything right, that we are stupid?
                                      Thank you!

I guess that door thing is kinda open.. Maybe I should cycle the heat on and off until it closes itself.

Guys normally drive faster, but know how to control a car better and don't have a bunch of other girls chattering constantly! 75% at least of the females I see driving are on their phones and if lucky see 10% of males on their phones. By far most female drivers (especially teenage females) are a hazard to the rest of the drivers!! All in all, drivers of all ages and sex today are way worse drivers than back in the day!! They don't care and are totally unaware of driving etiquette!
