Hey Scotty, I watch your videos every day you are awesome! I bought my 2018 Hyundai Elantra 2.5 liter brand new, driving about 15000 miles a year, and I hope to give it to my son in about 9 years when he is first licensed. Do you think the car is solid built and will last if I take car of it? Thanks!

          Hi Scotty,
You are awesome! your videos are very helpful, not that I am going to work on my car but at least I won't be taken for a ride by someone working on my car.

Need your advice, I drive a 2015 Acura RDX. The recommended fuel is premium, but was wondering if it would be ok to drive on a regular gas? Would it affect the engine life, fuel efficiency or performance of the vehicle?

Coming from someone who details(paint correction and ceramic coating ) personally the products you buy at autozone or any other retail store are usually crap it’s not about buying the most expensive products it’s about doing research and what products works the best at cutting and polishing your paint while wax only last a couple months ceramic coating can last over a year without having to re apply.

Tires start disintegrating from the moment they are made, and are only safe for about 7 years. They can look fine on the outside, even no cracks, but can be a time bomb on the inside. Never buy tires over 1 year old, and never buy used tires. The date of manufacturer (month and year) is stamped on the sidewall.

I agree with the tires. An automotive engineer told me a $200 tire that's half worn out is not as safe as a brand new $100 tire. I also do not buy tires made of chinesium.

For me I live in the rainy Seattle area and to me wet braking performance is at the top of my list. Internet tire seller, Tire Rack, tests a lot of the tires they sell. I search by my tire size then check testing data on wet braking to narrow my selection. Like Scotty I don't drive enough miles to warrant an 80,000 mile tire. I will pay more for a tire that will make a difference in it stopping before colliding with something.

                                                                        • spike555

I am a truck driver, 26yrs so far, and not all tires are created equal. Cheap tires do not provide as much traction in rain and snow and more expensive tires. Tires have a traction rating on them, buy the highest traction rating tire you can afford. Traction means control, and without control you have nothing.
