PG&E begins power outage in California due to wildfire threat

  • Published: 09 October 2019
  • Millions of people in California could be without electricity for days. PG&E started shutting off power overnight in more than half of California's 58 counties in what the company is calling an "unprecedented wildfire danger." Roughly 800,000 customers are expected to be impacted. Jonathan Vigliotti reports.

I understand if there's a bad storm (i.g. a lot of rain, strong wind, etc.) the power can go off. That's very understandable. And I understand by watching this, and few other videos, that PG&E is facing liability for a fires and people losing their houses. But where I live in Kern County (I live in Central California, not exactly but close to LA), for the last few months, the was never any wind OR bad winds! So, WHY does PG&E keep shutting the power off?? It's really irritating! Also, why can't I contact PG&E about this?? Why won't they get back to me?? They won't email me back! I'm thinking about doing a Lawsuit, if they continue turning the power off!

Instead of seeking a long term fix, they decide to go the short route. Wildfires are always gonna be there. They need to start finding long term solutions instead of inconveniencing millions of customers.

Is a state run utility better? Ask someone from Siberia about state run utilities. Because that is where things are going. Sad.

                                                            Creative and original idea:
Since putting electricity underground, is quite on quote “too expensive” and they are also scared of wind to blow fire from electric, why not use wind to their advantage do this,Shut off the power but turn on the windmills.Windmills aren’t as expensive and when it’s windy they can be backups. When the wind stops turn back on the power.Genius idea.Oh and if pg&e is reading this,Pls do this idea it’s a win win situation. And if you can lower our bills by at least 5% oh and to prepare Build the windmills ASAP and then save the energy they make until you have to run off the main power

As a steam power engineer, this outage business makes absolutely no sense to me. The highest danger of fire comes when the power lines are under huge demand. At no time is the demand higher than when voltage returns to a grid with millions of sources still turned on.
Also, there is this simple fact. At no time is fire danger greater than when the grid is down and people are operating generators, burning candles or cooking over a fire. Duhhhhh!
This fabricated dilemma is not about fire, it is about inconvenience, the kind of inconvenience that pushes people into cities per Agenda 21 and Agenda 30 (the human control and reduction Agendas)
