  • Our Pocket Shirt!:

In the Eocene Epoch, there was a reptile that had teeth equipped for biting through flesh, its hind legs were a lot longer than its front legs and instead of claws, its toes were each capped with hooves. How did this living nightmare come to evolve?

It probably could've been bipedal, since looking at other discoveries, the real thing could actually be a lot chubbier than we thought. Maybe its tail was fatter and kinda stiff?

Terror birds have gone really close to something theropod-like, just add a tail and teeth and you basically have an avian analogue to the non-avian theropods.

We can call all birds dinosaurs, but it is easier to just call them birds to be more specific in certain situations.

Anyways, I asked _when_ did "dinosaurs" become "birds". And why do we even call them like that if they're the same as you say? Why do we need a new name (bird) for something that already had a name?
