You have exceeded your EV vehicles maximum range. Your batteries are at 10%.
What do you do? You call for a tow truck and he pulls you for 100 miles. All four wheels on the road. To use hardware on board your vehicle for regenerative charging. The 100 mile tow; allowing you to then drive to a power tap that you pay for, to recharge your batteries fully.

@Gerald Davis Hello Gerald. A retired Chrysler engineer peered in on a crew modifying a 4X4 Dodge into a Milspec vehicle. The tires were bullet resistant design. He asked the team to turn the wheels lock to lock, left and right.
Then he pointed out to the crew of young lads, that the frame itself was bending under the load merely turning on concrete shop floor.
So a proper electric car should mount all the drive motors inboard and use Cardan type CV axles to each wheel.
      Does that make sense?

God I love you Scotty. Russia lost another 14 of the crew in a submarine due to an onboard electrical fire.
All the "clever engineering," to prevent H20 in these modern electrical vehicles, will not offset neglect of maintenance. We will still see vehicles attempting to ford three feet of water on a roadway. And dealers fixing stupid at $180 per hour.

I have One Major question of America going balz out on Electric vehicles. With 100 degree temperatures in summertime, how the heck are power companies going to keep the electrical grid online? They have issues with substation transformer failures, and that is mainly from HVAC high demand. So for energy self sufficiency, I would have to have the entire roof of my home covered with solar panels to recharge my commuter vehicle to go to work.
Imagine 1 million vehicles plugging into
the grid at 6:30pm in one region. The power companies have to catchup to private sector entrepeneurs.
And I will bet, that China's infrastructure is far better modernized than neglected America's grid.

Rumor has it that Rivian knocked on Scotty Kilmers door to ask for some auto parts from his junky garage to put in their concept vehicle to show at the Detroit auto show next year. Is that true?

Scotty, the peak power is not as important as the long term average power in an electric pickup truck. This is why pickup trucks that do any real hauling should not be electric, they have to be hybrid or full on gas.

The Rivian factory mentioned is the former state of the art Mitsubishi plant in Normal ,IL. home of Illinois State University. You will likely see a lot of ISU design, engineering, and financial management input in these as well. I'd like to see the Rivians as soon as they are available- perhaps distributed via Ford dealers since Ford has already invested in them? If they produce electrics maybe there will also be a hybrid in the future too.

Electric vehicles are the wave of the future. Like it or not. I wouldn't buy one of the first three or four years of production of a Rivian, but they'll get the bugs ironed out. Water in the motors and electronics? Likely. BUT. As you said these guys are smart. WAY above my pay grade. Great seals, allowing minuscule amounts of water into the motor and electronics. And maybe some heat to evaporate and discharge that water. Or, how about pressurizing the component so water can't get in? I'm no engineer, and these are likely dumb ideas for a number of reasons. The idea though is that folks a lot smarter than I'll ever be can visualize things I'll never see. So when Rivians have been around for a few years they'll likely take over pickup truck sales completely. Think about it. With a 2019 optioned out F 150 going for north of $70,000.00 Rivian can match or BEAT that price. Even with the battery pack, which are being improved all the time. Being an old goat (not greatest of all time) I hate to see my old standby losing out. Reality bites. I've no choice but to accept it.

Those greedy bastards in Municipalities don't GIVE A DAMN for the Families that OCCUPY new homes in FLOOD ZONES. .(since 2005). and the BUILDING PERMITS keep being issued to commercial builders in FLOOD ZONES which is WRONG. Ask yourself how many hurricanes or floods have HAPPENED since H Katrina or H Rita? or H IKE? Houston's Municipalities KEEP giving out and issuing BUILDING PERMITS knowing damn well that flooding and deaths will keep happening. Houston needs a sea wall system and to DEMAND THAT BUILDERS do not build houses ON GRADE (on the ground level) anywhere from Montgomery County line (The Woodlands) down to Corpus Christie PERIOD. Houston needs to build NEW HOMES 15' off grade as a building code...as well as COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS. They do this in Magnolia Texas wherein entire apartment buildings are ON STILTS. We all know that Houston Floods and that the Municipalities and the Governor have a people to PROTECT.

On EVs, the brakes are only there for emergencies and thus the pads will typically last well over 100,000 km (60,000 miles). Even going down a mountain, towing maximum load you won’t have to use the brakes to keep a constant speed.

Instead of college a lot of young people should be encouraged to go be an apprentice for somebody like Scotty, we've got a lot of Scotty's, roofers, electricians, carpenters, stone cutters, you name it, all experts in their field.

                                                                                            financially :
A- how much the recharging would be - if available every we’re ?
B- how much it gonna cost .

                                                                                            in reality:
                                                                                            - batteries do have difficulty in bad condition weather starting - cold weather - does this apply if yes , then it’s failure from the start.

                                                                                            - in case of accident - what is the safety level with this loads of batteries- is it a safe company - or a boom shakalaka .
