  • Joker, the much-anticipated new take on the DC Comics villain of the same name, weaves such a winding narrative that it leaves behind plenty of fascinating implications, and huge questions, after the credits roll. Spoilers ahead.

Let's get this one out of the way first. Arthur Fleck spends a lot of time lost in fantasy. We see this almost immediately in the film, when he's watching Murray Franklin and fantasizes about being an audience member who gets called down in front of the cameras. Later, this goes even further when we realize that Arthur has imagined an entire romantic relationship with his neighbor Sophie.

This tendency toward fantasy, coupled with things like the dreamlike way he walks out of the interview room in the final shot of the film, are enough to make us wonder how much of the story takes place in Arthur's head. We know for sure that some elements are imagined, but what else might be? Did he ever actually make it out of that cop car in the middle of the riot? Did he actually kill his therapist? Was he even, perhaps, in the asylum the whole time? It's hard to be certain, but the rest of these questions rely on at least some of these events being true.

Arthur Fleck's life is unraveling from pretty much the moment Joker begins, but things only get worse when he learns that his mother Penny believes that Thomas Wayne, her former employer, is Arthur's father. At first, Arthur has no reason to believe his mother is wrong, but when he confronts Wayne about it, the billionaire insists that Penny is just delusional. Later, Arthur recovers paperwork from Arkham State Hospital that apparently confirms that he was adopted, but is that the whole story? Even later in the film, he finds a photograph of his mother that Thomas Wayne apparently inscribed on the back with a comment about Penny's lovely smile... so how much of the Wayne story was really true? Keep watching the video to see the biggest unanswered questions in Joker!

Applying the theory that the whole movie is a delusion form the git go, there's no point analyzing any of the movie, because there is no plausible answer, Todd Phillip's himself said and I quote "we originally had the 1st elevator scene with Sophie as the only real interaction, and the rest would be a delusion, but decided to make them real", so considering he wrote it, this discounts the fact the it's all a delusion, ergo Arthur's world did in fact exist. At the end the bloody footprints make it apparent he killed the therapist, why else would a criminally insane patient be strolling thru the halls unattended. As a whole it's way too elaborate to be a delusion, but parts certainly, for me it really hot intense when he left the apartment in route to Murray's show, the walk, the turn in the elevator revealing the awesome make-up, the dance on the steps, and that calm stroll off the train while the cops got pummeled were chilling,

i Don’t think you should feel bad for Joker at any point in the movie. He manipulates people to get what he wants. In my opinion the Joker we see in the film is what Joker wants the world to become. He wants the world to be just as dark as he is. If you don’t believe me watch Harley Quinn’s origin from the animated series. The episode is entitled Mad Love. This episode will fill any gaps you have about the Joker as a character.

I don't think some people understand how delusion works; you do things to convice yourself that what you afe saying is true, you write letters to yourself, you talk to yourself like you were the other person, you call yourself over the phone, you reenact whole scenes by yourself, so much so that you start believing your own lie. The sign photo could have easily been sign by Arthur's mother herself and sent to herself. It really doesn't prove anything.

The questin is super legit about what the heck the Waynes were doing out on the town so late that night. This is after the live airing of Murray being killed on his nightly talk show (so we can probably assume 9pm or later), and hours after the subway incident that already sparked elevated unrest that night. Yeah, maybe chill in your mansion that night.

I think it’s quite possible that Thomas Wayne is the father of Arthur and the reason why is number one Arthur kind of alluded to the fact that they kind of look alike and also Thomas got really defensive about it and hit Arthur if you weren’t the biological father of an illegitimate child like that you wouldn’t of been so defensive and you wouldn’t have assaulted the guy. If anything you’d be like hey I assume that you would come for me here’s some documents or hey how about I take you to this place and I’ll show you that you know that’s not true. Thomas did none of that and I don’t think it’s impossible to say that he was young you know he messed around with the mother And he didn’t want to mess up his family name or his money or Legacy or whatever and they got rid of her came up with a statement that she’s out of her mind and then they bribed the record holders to make it come off like he was just adopted by somebody else and that we don’t know who the parents are I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility.

Arthur Fleck is the leader and founder of the Joker movement and the Joker as we know it is actually one of his younger followers who goes on to become the clown prince of crime.

I believe the character was a movie buff.
I believe one of his favorite actors is Robert de Niro back in the 70s and 80s.
Movies that he put in his head... That he fantasize himself being the character of those movies

I believe that the character in this movie also was a Batman fanatic

And at the very end when he said

I believe that he was the author of this whole movie script in his head
                                                                                  Hence the name Arthur fleck.
Where he saw himself to be a minut individual in this big world, which is pretty much the epitome of the word fleck.
The only way this could be a sequel is if he puts his sequel in his mind.
That's why we wouldn't get it.

Three things. 1. His jacket is the same color as the walls in Arkam, suggesting the entire movie is a delusion. 2. Video cameras did not come out until 1983, so how did Murray have footage of Arthur's failed stand-up act. 3. Delusional behavior is an inherited trait. Since Arthur's mother is delusional as well, it suggests that Arthur got it from his mom and that he and Batman are half brothers.
