The big pain comes with having to use Windows. Also say goodbye to OS upgrades that work. But the Windows updates usually require new hardware anyway.Speaking of hardware - get used to non-standard hardware. Be sure to keep the driver disk in case it ever needs a reload or an upgrade.

The fact you actually recommended max for the everyday users is terrible.idk how you get credibility with a recommendation like that 😂 Mac has sucked for years and years. It’s a fashion statement at this point. The performance difference between the two are staggering. Considering used 4GB model of Mac laptops are going for 500$ still. I bought a Lenovo yoga with 12GB of ram with an I5 for 250$ used. Will perform just as well as the brand new Mac besides the absolute top of the line model. Never the less how much do those Mac costs 😂?

Can somebody tell me what the advantage are of an Apple laptop. I have yet been able to justify the high purchase price over windows laptops with metal casing and lit up keyboards for about half the price. The apple laptops do have anmazing screeen and can see that as the only advantge?

General King nigga Apple products last so much longer than windows and android, I know that from personal experience 😂 I would’ve spent way more money having to replace devices that stopped working if I didn’t use Apple products and I would be less happy in the process. That being said it’s all personal experience and what works best for your needs, but I hate when people like you get on the bandwagon of hating on Apple just cos you’ve never owned anything from them.

With the Windows computer it is more of an open system. You will find when out of warranty it is not very expensive to service. It is a highly reliable system for both software and hardware. As for accessories they are far lower in cost, and very universal when comparing with the MAC. With Windows devices and including Android devices there are many accessories and devices that are multi compatible working together.

With most Windows PC devices you can have them serviced universally, and you can buy the parts yourself without being bound to a proprietary dealer only. This is also the same with Android devices such as Android phones and tablets. Very open system for parts and service, and is not extremely expensive for servicing.

I’ve no idea which one to buy after this . The new MAC air seems to be a better upgrade but the pro was the one that I was originally looking at now I have no idea because apparently the pro is going through some major problems for some but not for everyone . Please lemme know . The Macbook Air would be sufficient for academic use. However, the issue with the keyboard is something you need to consider. The new Macbooks (2016 onwards) use the Butterfly Switch Mechanism, and there has been a plethora of reported issues. Just do a quick google search and you will find countless articles.

The good news is that Apple has acknowledged that there is an issue with the buttefly switch mechanism however they haven't fixed the issue, they just have increased the warranty life period to 4 years after the device purchase date. The fact that Apple, a company known for rarely owning up to their own mistakes, acknowledging that there is an issue is telling, but I digress.

So for you, a high school student who would most likely use it when you go to university as well, I would recommend the Macbook Air, because if you are not going to do Video Editing or other high intensive multimedia tasks, it would be a waste. But there is a better screen as well. You just need to weigh your costs with your needs. I hope this helps.

I got the Mac Book Pro for music production(Logic Pro x and Final Cut Pro X) and after a year and half i regret it. Apple products has way too many proprietary restrictions! and sucks for cross platform sharing and publishing your art or music on online platforms. Apple is way over rated, your basically paying for the logo. Ive recently ditched my Mac Book Pro for Alienware M15 and my Iphone X for a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and im never looking back. I now use Filmora Pro and Studio One Professional and im really satisfied and makes my work flow easier and keeps me focused on making music and sharing it with the world rather than beign stuck for hours on my DAW/laptop trying to navigate all the proprietary restrictions from Apple.

W Leon Issues ? I'm an Android fanboy, but I have witnessed way more issues with Android's than Apple devices. And I had Android since the Nexus 4 to the now Pixel 3. Low battery life, frequent crashes, unoptimization, overheating, random software glitches, and worst of all, update times. Ever since I switched to the iPad Pro and iPhone X, its been such a life changer. No longer did I have to always Google search random problems I had, switch launchers, adjust developer settings, etc. I don't even remember the last time I spent time trying to fix a random issue I had.

The Apple Steve jobs built is dead, they use to make amazing products that just worked with loads of innovation staying way ahead of the rest of the market. Apple use to care about putting out a great product above all else but now it’s all about making the money. I do miss the old Apple, I left Apple years ago and bought an Alienware 17 r2 and I’m still using it everyday and luv it.

The quality, the design, the much better OS, etc. Do they have some issues, yes but they are way better than anything Windows has ever had. Thinkpad was crappy to begin with years ago and they still are. Oh corporate America, get on board already. No one wants a PC anymore despite what you think. Ask anybody what computer they want...I can almost guarantee the answer is "an Apple MacBook Pro". Hate if you want.

After adding 32GB of RAM, 1TB NVME SSD, and a 2TB SATA SSD it only cost $1300. It's not similarly priced, it costs half the price of the base MacBook Pro and is spec'd like the maxed out version. Not to mention that the full-fledged Nvidia GPU is MUCH more powerful than the weak AMD offerings in the MBP.

There is NO COMPARISON between the two. The Dell is my much more powerful and reliable.

I have no idea what you mean about the crashes you referenced, but Win10 is much more stable than Mac OS. When I used to work on an iMac at work, my Adobe apps would crash several times per day and would experience system crashed on a regular basis. In contrast, I can't recall the last time I had crashes in Win10. It's rare if ever. I edit video and create 3d animations 40-60 hours every week and have a large network of collaborators.

Seems like you haven't even used anything but Mac based on your comments. It sounds like you just cherry picked the same complaints that all Mac fanboys use without any hands-on.

One even paid $700 to have his repaired prior to Apple rolling out their repair program. I don't know where you get the $100 figure from. Apple is the only place you can get a replacement keyboard and they sell it as the entire top case only.

As far as quality and performance of competing models goes, you can easily find a computer that outperforms the MacBook Pro for half the price, without any of the thermal throttling issues. I edit on a Dell gaming G7 and it rocks. I did a lot of research to find the model with the best cooling. Even under full synthetic load the G7 won't thermal throttle, while the MacBook Pro can't even maintain base clock speeds under load.
