more proof neil is bogus. tesla didnt just have an "idea" about transmitting A/C current wireless, he did it. and thats a fact. on one occasion he transmitted so much power he melted the denver power plant motors when he turned his transmitter on during a storm resulting a blackout. they demanded he pay for the damage, which he repaired personally (and upgraded while he had it apart). telsa learned his (free) A/C wireless transmission from the atmosphere to the ground was far more powerful than even he thought. which is amazing since teslas thoughts gave us the modern world we take for granted. Tesla knew how to harness power from the sky and project it within a mile to everywhere in the vicinity. then JP Morgan shut him down. "You want to give the world free power and turn my company into an antenna sales business when I could be charging by the watt with wires?" Morgan shouted. after that tesla was doomed. he moved away from Morgan to NY and while away powering the World's Fair his new lab was burnt mysteriously. He never had the ability to fund his free A/C power transmitter ever again. "its there above us... more power than we could ever consume circling the world... renewing itself every split second... all we have to do is reach up and grab it" Tesla is greatest mind to ever live. without him, we would all still be living like the amish. it is also interesting to note that around 95% of the great inventors of our time were born within 500 of teslas birth place. Hmmmmm?

Neil DeGrass Tyson is a shill for the deep state and a gatekeeper of information. I don't trust him at all. Why is he acting as if he knows exactly what Tesla was planning? All we know is he HAD wireless electricity ALREADY. IN THE EARLY 1900S. If they let him proceed we would have worked out the rest by now.

First off, I like Neil, but.

Right off the bat, he lost credibility about choosing to own a Tesla SUV. I do admit, Teslas are good at the Motor-Stator design (BTW, The Motor Stator does have moving parts!)
Electric cars are Great if you live in a populated city. If you live in the country, especially if you experience cold winters, Not such a Good Idea. If you have an SUV, and plan to use it offroading, good luck when the electronics or battery gets submerged in something like a creek.
Is it just me, but does having an Electric Vehicle be as big and heavy as a Truck seem counter-intuitive unless it is meant to carry a large load.

Free energy doesn't exist. Cheap energy, maybe. You'll always need infrastructure, which costs money, and people to operate it and maintain it, which have to be paid so they also cost money.

I love how Neil gets off on discussing science topics. Very passionate. Regarding what Tesla was intending to do with broadcast electric power, in the documentary on Netflix, he talked about powering street lights across the city wirelessly. I don't recall if he actually did it during a demonstration, but one reason it never went anywhere is because he talked about providing free energy to the entire planet. Obviously that isn't gonna fly with big power (Westinghouse). As far as transferring information, I don't see how it was much different than Marconi getting his long distance wireless telegraph and radio broadcast technology off the ground. Tesla simply wasn't a businessman, far too trusting, and that along with his ever worsening "visions" is what did him in.

Tesla knew we could completely REPLACE radio and all other forms of energy transfer and communication with his discovery, hence the tower he was about to test when the powers that be, fronted by JP Morgan, cut his funding and destroyed his equipment. Tyson is the pop culture apologist boy of the handful of men who own everything, the oil industry, power systems, EVERYTHING. Unlimited electrical power can be pulled from the very earth and atmosphere and done cheaply. Now he's driving a car built by another tool Musk who also poo poo's Tesla's contributions. The frequency and wavelength of radio waves have nothing to do with the transmission power they represent. You know that appliance you have in your kitchen called a "microwave oven" that can heat a frozen burrito in a minute? Guess what, it uses radio frequency electromagnetic radiation. You can pump as much power as you want into that emitter. If you don't believe me, feel free to stand in front of a high power microwave emitter used in telecommunications and get cooked to death in about 10 seconds. The issue is not with frequency or wavelength, it's about atmospheric attenuation losses. The best way to transmit power wirelessly is with microwaves - but it has the huge disadvantage of attenuating over a short distance because of the amount of water vapor in the air as well as being unreliable based on all the atmospheric conditions that would affect the transmission compared to a conductive wire. I wish this blowhard would stick to what he understands, which appears to be very little.

In this example mass was made a constant so f∝a and a∝f. If you make force constant then yes m∝1/a and a∝1/m but that is changing the example and completely disingenuous. Perhaps you should ask your cat for advice.

@Gareth H Please don't call me "dear", I consider that sexual harassment. No, that's not what I'm saying. In your example, it depends on what's being held constant and what is being varied. The proportionality constant is mass, not acceleration or force in your simplified version of Newton's second law as those are both vectors while mass is a scalar. For a given mass, the higher the applied force, the higher the acceleration, that's obvious. But for a given applied force, the higher the mass, the lower the acceleration. So acceleration and force are inversely related if the proportionality constant of mass is what's being varied. I really am done with this conversation, I have to go clean my cat's litter box, which is far more entertaining.

So, from what you are saying: for a constant mass the force applied to it is proportional to its acceleration, but its acceleration is inversely proportional to the force applied. That is ridiculous. F=ma basic newtonian physics. F is proportional to a and a is proportional to F for a constant mass, proportionality is commutative.
Things are inversionally proportional when the increase of one variable means that the other variable is decreased, it is also commutative. How can you not know that?

                                                                                    1) Google the phrase "relationship between energy and power". Any results from a University physics department (or even Wikipedia) will show you I'm right.
                                                                                    2) Go to any grammar checking website ( I recommend Grammarly) and enter the clause "...as is your claims..." and see what happens. I will be proven right once again. Done with this conversation as it frankly bores me.
