Am i missing something? Where are the o-ring gaskets? I didn't see him put any on the housings except the front housing?

Gotta love the sound of a hopped up rotary when it idling.

The question I have that keeps me up at night is: Are there timing marks to line up the crankshaft to the rotors? It looks like you set the rotor on the steel and and drop the crankshaft in "somewhere that looks ok". How do you time the engine? Sorry for my piston based train of thought.

I understand this is an extremely dumb and ignorant question, but why can't you just add and extra rotor and rotor housing to a 13b?

At 32:56 it appears you didn't put sealer completely around the one port at the top of the screen. Is there a reason for that?

Rotors are much easier to build and work on than traditional design motors because they have less parts and no pistons.

Awesome video. I have been building piston engines for over 25 years. Never been into a rotary. Really nice to see one apart and explained. Really a simply elegant design. Awesome fab work on the X members and oil pan and trans + everything else. Top notch. I worked in NASCAR for almost a decade and I know good fab from bad and you guys are super. Thanks. Gonna be one hell of a sleeper. I love building sleepers.

I have a question for ya, Why do you use sealant on both sides? I can understand the use on the side with a port, but the other there is no port. Is it strictly to not get uneven thicknesses?

Well, actually I'm wanting to get my RX2 running again - it was stock, but all the vacuum diaphragms on the intake "went south" so I put a (used) RACING BEAT INTAKE and Holley 4 barrel on... I have no idea what jetting, power valve (etc.) to use. I also put RACING BEAT's exhaust header on in place of the stock exhaust. Any help would be appreciated. [email protected]

@RX7 Specialties adds power throughout the entire power band and gives you more any time you want it including low down. Also no lag and cleaner. I had a side ported 13b with a 6" supercharger in an 81 GSL and it was crazy. I have an 85 GSL-SE in the drive right now I want to have some fun with.

The purpose of the pins you are referring to are for alignment not so much strength. We put the extra pins in to provide strength where the load areas require it.
