I happened to love Velvet Buzzsaw and The Perfection; hated Joker; how could you leave off In The Tall Grass as THE Worst?

she did not just put the lighthouse in the worst category. that's a bit harsh, like it's not even in the okay category for her. yikes

Midsommar was definitely my favorite. It’s a movie that impacted me like any other. I actually experienced a panic attack the day after I saw it and then again in the theater the second time I watched it. My mom had just died in a brutal way about a month before I saw it and the grief that was portrayed by Dani fucked me up.

Dafoes character represents proteus the sea god also known as “the old man of the sea” and Pattinson’s character is suppose to represent Prometheus. Prometheus stole the fire (light) from Zeus and was punished by being bound to a rock and having his insides eaten everyday by birds ( as we see in the final moments of the film)

Tbh? I didnt really find Midsommar really interesting. It wasn't awful, but i really dont see why everyone is praising it.

My new rule for 2020 is to just watch the first half of trailers especially horror ones because then you get a good idea of what the movie is like without spoiling anything

I loved The Lighthouse. For me it's not really a horror movie, more of an psychological thriller. Most people expected some sort of tentacle monster or something. It's more about the two men losing their minds and going crazy. But yeah it's not a movie for everyone :) Fun Fact: They used 1920/40s equipment, that's why it looked like an old silent movie with the camera angles, lightning and such

I LIVED for Midsommar and I also enjoyed it a bit more then Hereditary :) I love the first child’s play (1988) but the 2019 was a joke to me. As you said it’s a dark comedy which is why I viewed it as the second time watching it in which made me enjoy it a bit more! Great vid as always !!!

Escape room: i suppose like somewhat original idea but overall ... meh. Not really looking fwd to the sequel

US: indeed great. Believe or not, I haven’t seen get out yet. Like u said, the good thing about “us” is that you can disconnect from the political msg. Greatly balanced.

Child’s Play: omg! Idk how I sat through that movie.... horrible

Midsommar: I’m with you. I like it more than hereditary. Florence Pugh just pulls me in throughout

Scary stories: it was ok. Would’ve loved it more if it were rated R.... but I get it..

Ready or not: this one I think it suffered from bad marketing.... actually I didn’t even bother seeing it at the theaters... I actually came around to see it about a week ago. And honestly, I’m not disappointed that I missed it at the theaters, but I did enjoyed it. Sara is the movie.

IT2: it was ok. Mostly disappointed.

Haunt: another one that I missed at the movies and totally regret doing so! Thanks shudder for streaming it!

Headcount: enjoyed it. Don’t know why it reminded me somehow of “it follows”

                                          Joker: ugh!

Doctor sleep: this one will grow to be a cult classic. Mark my words. The 1st two acts are brilliant.

Velvet Buzz: really? I mean... it’s not awesome. But it’s pretty good. I’m waiting for a proper proper Jake Gyllenhaal horror movie. After seeing him on Enemy and Nightcrawler... there’s potentially him to perform a really good psycho/serial killer/slasher movie or something

                                          Per Sematary: agreed.

The haunting of Sharon Tate: didn’t even bothered. Like.. really? lol

                                          The silence: trash

Brightburn: really? I think this one, although not perfect, there was potential there. And of course it feels “predictable”... it’s basically the origin story of Superman but horror...

The perfection: you lost me here. Lol! This one is great!

                                          MA: didn’t even bothered lol

                                          47 meters down: snooze fest

The lighthouse: surprisingly haven’t seen it. The trailer just didn’t call to me. Just waiting for it to drop on Netflix or something.

Sweetheart: I mean.... I suppose it was somewhat interesting... but mostly meh

I mean take Velvet buzzsaw it's a drama/mystery, doesnt make sense to compare that to movies like IT.

I was disappointed by Us, I found it tried way too hard and ultimately felt mediocre as a package and wasn't at all scary or unnerving. I hated It 2. There's a hidden gem I recommend you all to see called The Nightingale, it's not a horror, it's mostly a western, but has horrifying elements and is a revenge thriller.

I'm kind of a newbie to horror, but I've gotten to see a lot with my boyfriend.

Favourites: Ready or Not (though more of a horror comedy, but a very funny one), Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (for what it was going for, good - and, anyway, the stories in the book are about a page long. I think it needed to get assembled together to get enough depth). It Chapter 2 did have a somewhat disjointed middle act when they're getting items from when they were children, saved by strong performances and strength in other parts. Not as good as Chapter 1, but think that's more down to the book's strengths in the children and adult plots. Midsommer was amazingly well shot, though, weirdly, didn't disturb me half so much as it did my horror-loving boyfriend. May be because I grew up on Norse Myths. And Us was just amazingly well acted and had a fascinating underlying plot.

The biggest stinker by far was Pet Semetary, which seemed to shun any real emotional impacts, with the worst part Judd's death while being confronted demonically by a child tormenting him with his unfaithfulness to his wi- Oh, no, wait. That's what should've happened. While being generically told his wife was in Hell, with no reason to believe the kid. The death in the dumbwaiter was a decent idea as far as it went, but it went NOWHERE. There were some fantastic atmospheric sets in the walk to the real cemetary - where nothing ever happened. It was basically "wasted opportunities" the movie.

Us would probably rank higher if I had seen it in theatres with my boyfriend, but on a plane, alone, was not really the best way to see it.
