Yo guys 🙋🏻‍♂️ couple of things -

This was literally our first week using it so I didn’t want to dive too far into the technical aspect but rather our initial experience which speaks volumes because we we’re up and running, cutting multiple projects with zero hiccups.

Was planning on a higher level video after we had more time but it’s more than just a server or NAS. There’s a total available bandwidth of 4500MB/s, 256GB RAM and dedicated SSDs for Read and Write caching and 8 10GBe ports. It’s a beast.

It’s pricey for sure but for what we do it’s invaluable and a huge investment for our team. We spend $$ on cameras, lenses, lights, so this made sense!

Can you do more then put data on it?

If not, it´s just a nas where you can put you´re projects on it. A Nas can also have caching drives or 10GB Links.

That thing is just an expensive beasty nas.

With a better solution you could render for example you´re projects and save more time as with such a solution.

Think about a solution where you can put you´re data on it, edit you´re videos, and let the server export them, while you can edit another project.

That would be a good solution right?

Don´t tell us, that is a perfect solution.
It is a Solution for people, which are not interested in pc hardware.
And only need a very fast nas, which can be setup in a very short time.

For everyone else, there are whey better solutions.

I find it's no coincidence that people who enjoy the Apple ecosystem have fallen for this Jellyfish bait.

They're just used to paying exorbitant amounts for convenience.

So you payed how much for an "auto mount file share"?
What am I missing here? Isn't this just an SMB share on a high capacity NAS? Is this an Ad, a sponsored video?
Do you also buy snake oil to lubricate your hinges?

                                                          1. Do you need to have a super fast internal network 10 gig, to make this work well with everyone? 2. Can you use this system as a dropbox. Can you generate links from folders and send them to clients with a time limit to lock them out after a bit of time?

Mainboard, CPU, RAM, NIC, etc. Give us your impressions of the server running CentOS 7.x and ShareOS GUI. Which connection do you use 10GBase-T or 10Gb SFP+? Do you use an additional 10GbE/10G FP+ switch or do you connect your video production clients directly to the server (Cat 6a/Cat 7 patch cable vs. DAC).
