                                    Actually you haven't. There might be different ways to do it, but what he does is complex and wasteful. Cut the pepper in half from top to bottom, take out the seeds by hand and start cutting the two half sides of the bell pepper as you want to. Is what i do, leaves no waste behind just the seeds and is easy to cut too.

                                                                                        A pineapple is ripe, period. They are picked only when they are ripe, because it does not ripe futher when picked. And also the color doe not say anything at all, a pineapple can be yellow, green, red, it has nothing to do with ripeness. So, looking, smelling and cutting a piece of it is pure nonsense.
